This is a Swiss pocket watch made circa 1890
The watch has a quarter repeater function which at present only chimes 11.30 as the repeater is not moving on and there appears to be teeth broken on the repeater rack
The actual watch works and keeps good time but has NOT been cleaned or serviced by us and so is sold with NO warranty.
Movement – gilt ¾ plate lever movement has a slide activated quarter repeater function with two steel hammers striking on the inner gongs. The movement is signed “Thos Russell and Son Liverpool in 80% mint condition – some corrosion on the winding wheels and hammers and some dirt also
Case – the movement comes in a large gold plated Hunter case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover does not pop open to 90 degrees when you press the winder in, it has to be lifted open. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 70% mint condition- there is metal coming through the plating in several areas on the case.
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Quarter Repeater by Thos Russell & Sons, Liverpool” The dial is in 99% mint condition – some small marks only
