This watch has a good balance but the winding slips back and does not engage. The watch is not working.
This is a curious pocket watch made by Moeris for the Egyptian Trams or TRAMWAY.
The watch is also marked with a British government Arrow on the back and TK1134 which denotes a Tank regiment. Was this watch sequestered during WW2?
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “Moeris, Non Magntic, 15 Jewels, Swiss Made”. The movement is in 90% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a metal case which has a snap on bezel, hinged inner and back cover. The inner is signed “Moeris, Grand Prix etc” and decorated with individual medals. The inside of the back cover is signed “Tramway Watch 4429”.
The back of the case is engraved with a British government Arrow on the back and TK1134 which denotes a Tank regiment. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Tramsway Watch, O Dusonchet, Cairo”. The dial is in 90% mint condition
The watch has a plastic glass
The watch measures 52mm wide x 16mm deep
The watch is stem wound / pin set
