This watch has a good balance and spring but the hand pinion is loose and the hands don’t rotate properly, so the watch appears at time to be not working or losing time, although it is ticking correctly. Also the back cover has had a repair. This watch is sold with no warranty
This is a Swiss pocket watch made by Omega.
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement, 15 Jewels and a compensated balance. The movement is signed “Omega” 4418510 and is in 90% mint condition – some spots
Case – the movement comes in a silver open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The inner cover is signed “Omega, Grand Prix, Paris 1900” and is decorated with a row of medals with miniature detailing and then finished in gold. The back of the case is engraved and then set with black niello enamel and gilt highlights with a scene of two horses. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 70% mint condition – the back cover has a repair to the hinge with light niello losses. The inner cover is dented and there are bruises on the rest of the case.
Dial – the attractive white enamel dial has a set of blue steel Breguet style hands. The dial is signed “Omega” with an inner red 24 hour chapter ring and is in 80% mint condition – a chip on the side of the dial and a forked hairline on the 12.
