This is a Swiss pocket watch made for the Chinese market.
The watch has a good mainspring but although the balance will swing with a good action, when the watch it is ticking it is juddery and erratic and the balance moves in small arcs, almost vibrating. The watch ticks for a few seconds and then stops. It is sold as NOT working and does not come with a warranty
Movement – this beautiful gilt bridge movement has a cylinder escapement and a freestanding mainspring barrel. The whole movement is decorated with carved polished decoration against a further engraved gilt background. The movement is signed “Bovet. Fleurier, 138 and in 80% mint condition – a beautiful example, some marks and scratches
Case – the movement comes in a silver case, which has no hallmarks. The case has fixed front, a sprung silver cover over the movement and a hinged bac cover. The case is numbered 138 and is signed in Chinese on the dust cover. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in The case is in 90% mint condition – light wear plus although the bow is original it is gilt and not silver
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is in 90% mint condition – no damage just dirty
The watch has a plastic glass – partially loose
The watch measures 55mm wide x 14mm deep
The watch is key wound / key set and comes with a key.
