Most of the watches in my “Watches for restoration section” were purchased with a view to clean and service them and list them in my main section. However, when I inspect a watch if I find one or two faults then I list them here and this watch is one of those examples
The watch runs well but has not been cleaned or serviced
The case has niello loss hence the reason it is being listed here
Movement – the nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Tavannes Watch Co, Swiss Made” The movement is in 90% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a silver open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The case is engraved with striped engraving and then black niello – the case has a gold inlay crest on the back and is in 80% mint condition – niello is missing on the sides and back
Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk with red 24 hour marks. The dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is in 95% mint condition – the signature is faded
The watch has a plastic glass
The watch measures 49mm wide x 12mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
