This is an English First World War pocket watch made by Williamson, London.
The watch has English silver hallmarks for London 1916
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a free sprung balance and a lever escapement, a white steel (palladium?) hairspring and with a bimetallic compensated balance. The movement is signed “H Williamson Ltd, 81 Farringdon Rd, London” # 24153 and is also engraved with a broad arrow British government mark. The movement is in 90% mint condition –small marks only but overall a superb example
Case – the movement comes in a large and heavy English silver open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and a snap on bezel.

The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition –a very good impressive English case
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands including a sweep centre seconds hand. The dial is signed “H Williamson Ltd, London 24153” and features the broad arrow mark also. The dial is in 98% mint condition – a hairline on the 8 and a small nibble above the 11 hidden by the bezel.
