Most of the watches in my “Watches for restoration section” were purchased with a view to clean and service them and list them in my main section. However, when I inspect a watch if I find one or two faults then I list them here and this watch is one of those examples
This watch is working well but has NOT been cleaned or serviced
This is pocket watch was made by the Swiss company International Watch Co or IWC, as they are also known.
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate Cal 67 movement has a lever escapement and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Probus IWC, Scafusia, C67, 964328” and also numbered + 55231. The movement is in 85% mint condition – some light scratches and marks
Case – the movement comes in a white metal steel open face case, which has a snap on inner, back and snap on bezel. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 75% mint condition – superb condition – several deep marks and scratches on the back
Dial – the silvered dial has blue steel hands and is signed “International Watch Co, Schaffhausen”. The dial is in 90% mint condition – light marks and scratches
The watch has a mineral bevelled glass
The watch measures 51mm wide x 12mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
