This is an oversized French watch known as a Regulateur watch which has a beautiful dial and a very rare case
Movement – the large nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement, 15 Jewels and is decorated with damascening. The movement is in 95% mint condition. The movement is protected by a glass held in place by a bezel.
Case – the movement comes in a steel open face case, which has a snap on bezel and a hinged strut back so that when the back is open, the watch can stand upright. The case is decorated with a pressed image from the inside of the back cover to the front of a man in the moon face with a fluted design around the sides plus around the bezel. The inside is hand engraved by its original French owner and his address in Toulouse. The case has a large gilt bow and the case is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the white enamel watch dial has raised purple cartouches for each numbers and a pair of gilt filigree hands. The dial also has gold enamel decoration and is signed “Regulateur”. The dial is in 99% mint condition
The watch measures 64mm wide x 25mm deep
The watch is stem wound / pin set
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch comes with a fantastic steel chain with heavy industrial type links decorated with a milled design and large rivets. The chain measures 185mm long
The watch also comes with a Man in the moon stand
This is a good quality watch stand with a round base and carved dome. This supports the semi circular Man in the moon face with a hook at one tip. Each side is carved and is a good example
The stand measures 140mm high x 70mm and is in 95% mint condition
