Gilt and Stone Set Chatelaine. Circa 1810

This a gilt metal chatelaine made up of long length of trefoil work coiled and linked together to form the chatelaine. The piece then has 4 main gilt metal mounts holding agate stones and a row of three smaller agate stones. At one end is a gilt wide flat hook. At the other end an early screw and release dog clip, all decorated with carving. The chatelaine measures 180mm in length. The chain is in 95% mint condition – there are two areas where a little bit of the trefoil is missing
