This movement was made in Switzerland but made for the English market. The movement was sent to England where it was cased and sold. The case has clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1925
Movement – the top quality nickel 3 finger bridge movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator and a capped lever and is decorated with fish scale damascening. The movement is signed “The Renown, 23 Jewels, 5 Adjustments, Swiss Made”. The movement is in 100% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a solid English silver case by Dennison. It has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The case has coin edged sides, engine turning and a vacant cartouche. The case is in crisp 95% mint condition but has some stains on the silver which makes it looked scratched, even thought it is not.
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands. It is signed “Bravingtons, The Renown, Swiss Made” and is in 90% mint condition – a feint hairline in the centre
The watch has a bevelled mineral glass
The watch measures 50mm wide x 13mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
