This pocket watch was made by the Hamilton Watch Co for the US Govt but sent to England where it was used by the Royal Navy as a primary deck watch
Movement – the high grade nickel ¾ plate case has a lever escapement and a micrometer regulator. The movement has a wheel positioned on the top plate for the sweep centre seconds hand. The movement also has a hack feature which stops the balance dead, used for synchronising watches. The movement is signed “Hamilton Watch Co, USA, 3992B, 22 Jewels, US Govt, Adjusted Temp and 6 positions” # 3C1691. The movement is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a staybrite metal case, which has a screw off back and front. The back of the case is engraved Navigation Master Watch, MFRS PART No 3992B, Serial No `1126-942, Hamilton Watch Co, AM 6B/60” and a small military arrow along. The case has turned sides with a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – a patch of light discolouration
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is marked 1126 with a military arrow . The dial is also signed “Hamilton” and is in 98% mint condition – some fading on one part of the inner chapter ring
The watch has a plastic glass
The watch measures 51mm x 15mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
