Rare WORLD TIME pocket watch c1890

This is a rare World time pocket watch made in Switzerland circa 1890

Movement – the gilt bridge movement has a lever escapement and 15 jewels. The movement is in 99% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a gunmetal open face case, which has a hinged inner and back cover and a snap on bezel. The case is in 80% mint condition – some scratches and marks on the back from use and one patch where the gunmetal has rubbed away

Dial – this rare original dial has a central dial marked for Paris and then in a clockwise direction, 5 other dials marked New York, Petersbourg, Berlin, Londres and Constantinople. These are all set up for different time zones. The dial has original gilt and blue steel hands and a sub seconds dial It is decorated with gold and silver enamel flowers and is signed “Depose No 4975”. The dial is in 100% mint condition

The watch measures 53mm wide x 16mm deep

The watch is stem wound / pin set

The watch has a bevelled mineral glass

The watch comes with a vintage leather box of the period
