Fancy silver 18 size 17 Jewel Elgin pocket watch c1894

This is an American pocket watch made by the Elgin Watch Co.

Movement – this gilt full plate lever movement has 17 Jewels and with a micrometer regulator. It is signed “Elgin Nat’l Watch Co, Elgin Ill” # 5269569 and is in 95% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a 3 oz sterling silver case, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The case has large gold hinges with floral engraving and initials HBS. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition

Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of fancy blue filigree hands. The dial is signed “Elgin Nat’l Watch Co”. The dial is in 95% mint condition – 1 tiny hairline between the centre and the sub seconds.
