Silver Pocket watch with First World War provenance c1919

This is a Swiss pocket watch made circa 1919 which was sent to England where it was retailed by Thos Russell & Son Liverpool.

The watch has the following inscription

“Presented to Cpl C Heatcote, 10th Notts and Dewrby Regt, By the residents of Quarndon, 11th October 1919”

Movement – the nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement and is signed Thos Russell & Sons, Liverpool, Swiss Made, 10 Jewels”. The movement is in 90% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a .925 silver case, which has a hinged inner, back and snap on bezel. The case has the inscription above and the back is engraved “CH”. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 85% mint condition – 2 bruises on the back

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hand and is signed “Thos Russell & Son, Liverpool, Swiss Made”. The dial is in 99% mint condition

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 50mm wide x 11mm deep

The watch is stem wound / stem set
