Solid 9K gold Rolex pocket watch c1917

This watch was made by the Rolex watch company in Switzerland. It was sent to England.

The Rolex case has clear assay marks for 9K and also London import marks for 1917. The case is stamped W & D – which is Wilsorf and Davis, the importers of Rolex watches. 

Movement – the 3 finger bridge movement has a lever escapement and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Rolex Lever, Swiss Made” and is in 95% mint condition - superb condition.

Case – the movement comes in a solid 9K gold open face case, which is stamped W & D. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – superb condition-with just a few gold wires missing from the winder

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands, it is signed “Rolex” and is in 95% mint condition – a small flake in the centre.

The watch has a mineral glass over the dial and in the case

The watch measures 49mm wide x 12mm deep

The watch is stem wound /  stem set 

The watch comes in a leather, silk and velvet lined box of the period.
