This is an American Rail Road grade pocket watch by the Howard Watch Co.

This pocket watch is particularly unusual due to the style of bar over the crown which was only found with the Rail Road chronometer.

Movement – the top quality nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement and a micrometer regulator. The movement is signed “E. Howard Watch Co, Boston, USA, Railroad Chronometer, Series 11, 21 Jewels, R.R. Adjustment, Temp and 5 positions” 1374653. The movement is in 95% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a keystone extra open face white gold filled case, which has screw off back and front. The inside of the back cover is signed “E. Howard Watch Co, Boston.” The rare case has the double bar over the crown and is the correct case for this watch as this model case was not used for any other Howard watches. The case has light engine turning on the back with a vacant cartouche and a milled edge. The case is in 90% mint condition – a superb example but there is some metal coming through on the shoulders and bow

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Howard”. The dial is in 99% mint condition.
