Rare advertising pocket watch for Peugeot inc orig box c1915

This pocket watch was made as a promotional give away for Peugeot tyres and cars. These watches were never intended to be high quality timepieces and are therefore are not recommended to be used as daily timekeepers

Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is in 90% mint condition – some small marks

Case – the movement comes in a white metal open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and a snap on bezel. The bezel is signed “Valentigney. Offert par les fils de Peugeot Freres”. The back has an embossed Lion standing proudly on an arrow with the words ““Lion” Peugeot”. The case is wonderfully detailed and as expected of a case of this type signed in miniature script “Frainier” under the arrow feathers. The case is in 90% mint condition

Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of filigree hands and a gilt sub seconds hand. The dial is in 75% mint condition – a large forked hairline on the 9-10

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 51mm wide x 15mm

The watch is stem wound / stem set

The watch comes in its original box which is scuffed and worn
