This is a 16s 19J pocket watch made for the US Government during WWII.
Movement – the high quality nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and a micrometer regulator. The movement has exposed steel work for the stop, start fly back and reset chronograph function with a 30 minute register. The movement is signed “19J Hamilton, Model 23, Adj Temp 8 positions” # P10114 and is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a keystone base metal open face case, which has a screw off back and front. The case is engraved on the back “TYPE D, MFR’S PART NO 37297, SERIAL NUMBER NO. AF 42-21041,CONTRACT NO. W-535-ac-28072, HAMILTON WATCH CO” The case is in 80% mint condition – there are the usual scratches and marks found on a military watch case but this is still in good condition
Dial – the black paint on metal dial has a set of white hands with sweep centre seconds hand, subsidiary hand and register hand for the 30 minute register dial. The dial is signed “Hamilton” and is in 99% mint condition
The watch has a plastic glass
The watch measures 50mm wide x 17mm deep
