16s 21J Hamilton 992B Railroad pocket watch with box 1952

This is an official American Railroad pocket watch made by the Hamilton Watch Co.

The watch is in excellent condition and comes in its original “cigarette” bakelite flip top box. The box is lined with blue velvet and is signed Hamilton on the lid and has the Hamilton crest on the front. The box is lacking its velvet lining in the lid

Movement – this high grade ¾ plate nickel movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator and a gold capped escape wheel and lever. The movement is decorated with striped damascening. The movement is signed “Hamilton Watch Co, USA, 992B, 21 Jewels, Adj Temp & Six positions” # C373835.  The movement is in 95% mint condition – superb condition

Case – the movement comes in a 10K gold Filled open face Wandsworth case which has a screw off back and front. The case has turned detailing on the back and front bezels and a smooth plain finish on the back cover. The case has the patent stirrup bow over the winder. The case is in 90% mint condition –there are some small marks where metal is coming through the plating on the very edge of the case.

Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk. It has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Hamilton”. The dial is in 99% mint condition
