This is an English silver pocket watch with clear hallmarks for Chester 1878

The watch runs but has not been cleaned or serviced and so is sold with No warranty

Movement – the gilt full plate going barrel movement has a lever escapement with a steel balance wheel. The movement is signed “J & E Rhodes, Kendal” 117893 and is in 95% mint condition

The watch has its original dust cap.

Case – the movement comes in a silver open face case, which has a hinged back and bezel. The watch is wound from the back and is set from the front; the movement is accessed from the front also. The case has gold hinges, coin edged sides and engine turning on the back. The case is in 80% mint condition – rubbing and wear to the back

Dial – the off white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and a blue steel sub seconds hand. The dial is is in 80% mint condition – numerous cracks around the side

The watch has a synthetic glass

The watch measures 50mm wide x 17mm deep

The watch is key wound / key set and comes with an old key
