Beautiful Gilt Metal Chatelaine and Matching Seal. Circa 1890

This is a gilt metal Chatelaine which has a hinged, sprung clasp at one end with a spike to secure it securely. There is also a length of fine mesh links and a dog clip to attach to the watch in the pocket. The remaining chatelaine would then hang from the pocket. The chatelaine is made up of a strap of fine mesh links with a carved middle plaque. Hanging from it is a matching seal with same pierced decoration. The chain measures 105mm from end to end, is 20mm wide and is in 95% mint condition.
