The watch has clear hallmarks for London 1902
Movement – the gilt 3/4 plate lever movement is signed “S.Smith & Son, 9 Strand, London, Makers to the Admiralty, 99.A.472, 15275”. The movement is in 85% mint condition – some dirt and small scratches and one case screw is missing.
Case – the movement comes in a heavy English silver half hunter case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops open crisply to 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The case has case makers marks for SS and is numbered 15275. The inner cover is engraved “J.H.S from A.S. K.S. H.J.S. & K.T.S December 1915.
The back of the case is engraved with a scroll monogram of JHS. The case has stepped sides and is in 85% mint condition – one bruise on the side and light wear – the inside could do with a good clean
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “S.Smith & Son, 9. Strand, London, WC, 99.A.472”. The dial is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a mineral glass over the dial and a mineral glass in the front cover
The watch measures 52mm wide x 15mm deep
The watch is stem wound / pin set
