This is a classic rail road grade pocket watch made by the Elgin Watch Co, USA

The movement is a grade 540, model 15.

Movement – the nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. It has gold train wheels and raised gold jewel settings. The movement is decorated with damascening and is signed “BW Raymond, Elgin Nat’l Watch Co, USA, 23 Jewels, Motor Barrel, Adjusted 5 positions Temperature” # 38997540. The movement is in 95% mint condition – some light scratches

Case – the movement comes in a 10K gold filled open face case by Elgin, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case has stepped edges. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 85% mint condition – the case is in superb condition – three dings on the back cover

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Elgin”. The dial is in 100% mint condition

The watch has a bevelled mineral glass

The watch is stem wound / lever set

The watch measures 50mm wide x 13mm deep
